WINTERFRONTS

Why Invest In A Winterfront?

Winters get cold — very cold. Rapid temperature changes can catch us unaware — we’ve all been there. We feel the cold, and our vehicles feel it even more. And while some companies sell factory-made winterfronts, those aren't good enough when it's -40 degrees outside.

Unprotected Engines Are Vulnerable To The Elements — And Take More Fuel To Keep Warm
While semis might seem indestructible, their engines are quite vulnerable. In winter, the cold air infiltrates your engine bay, causing increased wear and tear, and reduced fuel efficiency. Warmer temperatures can lead to better fuel mileage since warmer air is less dense than colder air, which means that the engine doesn't need to work as hard to draw in oxygen for combustion. This can result in less fuel being used per mile travelled, ultimately improving gas mileage.
Are Winterfronts Worth It?
A winterfront is a small investment that can save you thousands of dollars in the long run. If something happens to your engine, fixing it can be extremely pricy. At the lower end, it will cost you thousands of dollars to cover repairs for minor issues such as frozen components, cracked hoses, or fuel system malfunctions. At the higher end, the cost to fix severe damage like cracked engine blocks, seized bearings, or warped components can be astronomical. In such cases, a complete engine replacement might be necessary.

Why Go With A Custom-Made Winterfront?
Semi-truck companies typically do not provide winterfronts to drivers, and the ones they supply for an additional fee can be lacking. Most are thin, made from low-quality materials, with a limited lifespan. They will do for a while, but after that, their ability to protect your engine will be diminished.
What’s worse, they only perform adequately at mild temperatures. When temperatures plummet, the factory-made protection fails. It’s just not robust enough.
At Wyatt Weatherfronts we make winterfronts that can withstand temperatures as low as -40C.
How? We use high-quality quilted vinyl and pad our products with foam for additional protection. That makes our winterfronts much stronger and more durable.
And when spring starts, you can keep your winterfront on thanks to our signature door design. When it’s warm, just leave the doors open. Switch to your bugscreen above 0C.
